Administrative Clerk (Temporary, Part-Time) - Child and Family Guidance Center - Palmdale, CA


This position is a Temporary position that is projected to last through December, 2015. This position is Monday-Wednesday, 9AM-6PM.


The Temporary Administrative Clerk works under the direct supervision of the Administrative Manager of the Palmdale Facility, and is primarily responsible for providing administrative support to the psychiatrists at the Child and Family Guidance Center.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Files correspondence, lab results, and EKGs in patient charts.
2. Places reminder calls for appointments.
3. Schedules follow-up appointments as needed/back-up.
4. Enters appointments in FileMaker.
5. Prepare charts for following day appointments. Attach necessary documentation to front of chart for psychiatrist to review/complete.
6. Types and processes authorizations to release/receive information, as needed and requested.
7. Provides coverage for other Psychiatric Administrative Staff in case of absence or work overflow.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 1. High School graduate with at least two years experience as a secretary, one year of which should have been in the mental health field.2. Ability to get along easily with people, both in person and on the telephone.3. Must be able to accept responsibility and work with minimal supervision.4. Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred, but not required5. Must have a good sense of judgment as pertaining to the position.
EDUCATION: High School Diploma with at least two years of secretarial experience.
