civil case files by reviewing pleadings, typing docket information and establishing case file folders for the documents.
Reviews incoming documents and actions and updates case docket by entering documents as they are received using a
computer and maintaining case files; Assists the public and attorneys by providing information about the status of cases
or Clerk’s Office procedures both at the counter and by telephone; Prepares civil summonses and other writs by typing
proper forms and envelopes; Performs cashier duties, processes paternity bond paperwork and administers oaths; Cross
trains and assists in courtroom duties when necessary; This position performs other duties as assigned.
Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Experience: One year of related experience.
Preferred: Previous legal experience.
Skills/Abilities: Ability to receive the public in a courteous and helpful manner. Ability to effectively convey directions,
instructions and information to the public. Ability to multi-task and work efficiently within considerable time constraints.
Ability to understand and carry out complex instructions. Ability to learn and apply court and legal terminology. Strong
organizational skills and the ability to correctly apply job-related procedures and forms. Ability to operate a personal
computer and type 35 wpm net or 5,000 kph net as demonstrated by successful completion of a typing or alphanumeric
data entry test. Ability to learn and use court specific software applications. Ability to perform all essential duties of this
position.
