– Broadcom’s internal CAD Library development group is looking for energetic, outgoing and driven professionals to join our team. Applicant will work closely with memory circuit designers and professional software engineers in a fast paced project oriented environment to develop Design Automation (DA/EDA) scripts, optimize CAD Library design processes, support Chip Design teams using an ASIC flow, and drive continuous process improvements through automation.
– Applicant will work on memory compilers and other software systems that deliver automatically generated and SPICE characterized macro blocks.
– Applicant will work on the infrastructure needed to achieve peak efficiency utilizing distributed compute systems (LSF), file servers, network transfers, and relational databases (MySQL).
– Applicant will join a team that provides modeling, characterization, infrastructure, and software to automate CAD Library development and delivery.
Duties include:
– Software development using scripting languages such as Perl or Python, javascript, mysql, HTML, and other high level languages.
– Working directly with CAD library designers to deliver a wide variety of macro blocks and models, from single designer full-custom designs, to multi-user/multi-site hierarchical designs.
– Engaging in collaborative software development on a team as well as on single person projects, manage project schedules, meet delivery milestones, and follow Software Development Life Cycle.
– Continuously improving systems to automate the design, simulation, delivery, and quality of CAD Library assets.
– Supporting legacy scripts and programs: troubleshooting, refactoring, and enhancing them for ever evolving technology needs.
– Working directly with chip teams to answer ASIC design implementation questions, investigating issues, and problem escalation.
– Using leading EDA/CAD tools (from vendors such as CADENCE, Synopsys, and Mentor), interfacing with EDA companies, and providing expertise to chip teams.
-Typically Requires a BSEE and 6+years of related experience or an MSEE and 3+ years of related experience or a PhD.
-Requires experience in software development on the Linux platform and must be proficient in Linux operating system use.
-Must be proficient in scripting languages – Perl or Python preferred, database development or administration – mysql preferred.
-Should possess a good understanding of software design, development, debugging, testing, and implementation.
-Should possess an understanding of ASIC EDA/CAD design flow.
-Must communicate well with others.
