Chemonics seeks an associate to join our Finance and Administration Division. This position offers opportunity to gain valuable experience working on the financial side of international development on one of the division’s many diverse teams. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.


Responsibilities include:

•Ensure all processes are executed in accordance with GAAP, company policies, and government regulations (i.e., USAID, FAR, and other federal, state, and local regulations)

•Ensure on a daily basis that activities are consistent with Chemonics" basic requirements, standard operating procedures, resources, tools, and quality standards

•Depending on assigned team, perform duties that may include:

o Processing accounts payable

o Performing payroll operations and processes assigned payrolls

o Preparing and reviewing monthly reports, and analyzing and reconciling data discrepancies between ADP, TimeSite, Solomon, and other accounting software

o Supporting field-office operations, including reviewing and approving wire transfers, reviewing and uploading monthly foreign office accounting data, preparing standard exchange rates, and activating personal identification numbers

o Assisting with issuing checks of payment for processed transactions and log payments, and distributing and/or mailing checks to appropriate individual/vendor

o Preparing and submitting deposit, ACH, wire transfers, and foreign draft requests to the bank

o Assisting with administration of corporate credit cards and corporate insurance program renewals, enrollments, reconciliations and claims, and company’s insurance management, including enrollment, yearly program renewals, reconciliations, and claims

o Assisting or leading recruitment, performance evaluation processes, and work planning

o Analyzing, developing, and assisting with installation and maintenance of software application to increase automation of tasks associated with financial management and budgeting

•Support responses to corporate and project-level audits, including retrieval and analysis of transaction details and associated backup


Qualifications:

•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required

•Minimum one year of experience in areas such as account reconciliations, accounts payable, field accounting, cost and pricing, treasury operations, financial management, cash management, and/or project management

•U.S. government contracting experience preferred

•Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

•Experience with accounting software strongly preferred, particularly experience with Microsoft Dynamics SL and/or Cognos TM1 preferred

•Experience living or working in developing countries preferred

•Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing

•Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

•Strong organizational and work prioritization skills and attention to detail

•Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
