Gas Operations is focused on ensuring the safe and reliable flow of
natural gas to our customers. As a whole, Gas Operations is responsible for all aspects of PG&E’s gas distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, restoration and emergency response. Position
Summary
This is an IBEW represented classification, which has over 100 years of experience representing employees at PG&E. This job is subject to collective bargaining.
We are seeking a capable individual with good time management,
attention to detail, administrative skills working in a construction environment, knowledge of accounting procedures, good grammar and spelling, computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
This position provides clerical and/or
administrative support (handling mail, ordering/stocking/distribution of office supplies, copying) to one or more department/supervisors.
This position may require you to travel and work overtime depending on business need.
Qualifications
- Must possess a High School diploma, GED or equivalent work experience
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must possess a valid California Driver’s License
- Must be able to wear company provided Personal Protective
Equipment (PPE)
- Internal PG&E Employees: Must have qualified on the Clerical Test Battery (CTB) exam and Work Orientation Inventory (WOI) prior to applying
- External and Hiring Hall Candidates: Must qualify on the Clerical Test Battery (CTB) exam and
Work Orientation Inventory (WOI) prior to interview
Desired Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Demonstrated work experience with SAP (Systems, Applications and Products) such as POs,
Good Receipts, etc.
- Demonstrated experience with Payroll time entry
- Demonstrated experience with SRM (Supplier Relationship Management)
- Demonstrated experience with Concur expense reporting
- Relevant current or past work experience with
PG&E and/or Hiring Hall.
- Graduation from a PowerPathway® Program is preferred.
- Clerical Experience with Super Gas Ops and/or Super Crew
Responsibilities
- Mail: Sort and distribute incoming mail to areas
and staff within the organization and dispatch outgoing mail.
- Data Processing: This involves organizing written records and accurately typing the information into computer systems or a database. Will have to perform data input and update different types of
records, based upon the business or department they support. e.g. business letters, reports, payroll, any jobs related to using SAP, CATS, Microsoft programs and other related programs. They must be comfortable using digital hardware and software, so they can work
with spreadsheets, write letters using word-processing applications and respond to emails. They must also be able to use common office machines, including copiers, scanners, fax machines, phone systems, etc.
- Meeting Preparation: Setting up conference rooms
and meeting rooms, making catering arrangements, ordering and setting up audio-visual equipment and preparing agendas. This includes greeting visitors and welcoming them to the job site. They will assist with questions and direct them to the appropriate person,
office or meeting.
- Greeter: Good interpersonal skills needed to interact with different types of people from the couriers who bring in ordered supplies, to department heads who need errands run. They must be able to listen actively to any instructions given
to them, and then communicate both verbally and in writing to explain the results of their actions.
- Ordering Equipment and Supplies: Keep supply rooms and cabinets stocked with paper, pens and other office supplies. This will also include taking orders from
other employees, tracking orders, dispersing items upon arrival and handling invoices.

- File maintenance: Much of the work involves organizing, storing and processing both
digital and hard copy information. Make copies of documents and maintain records. File, label, organize and respond to requests for files from others.
