Position: Event Planning Coordinator Intern

Organization Summary
Children’s Future is uniquely positioned to empower children and youth to break the cycle of poverty. Children’s Future holistic services provide basic needs supports, prevent human trafficking, and grant access to education for some of the most resource poor and vulnerable children in Cambodia. Children’s Future serves hundreds of children and youth that were previously not attending school and at risk of human trafficking and child labor. Children’s Future programs focus intently on ensuring that youth stay in school, attend higher education and have the opportunity to achieve their fullest potential and become positive role models, qualified professionals, and compassionate community leaders.

Key Responsibilities
· Assist in ensuring effective planning, communication, and scheduling of a wide variety of events such as annual events, networking events, special interest group meetings, restaurant fundraisers, happy hours, documentary showings and more
· Develop and manage pre- and on-site registrations for all events and programs
· Solicit for donated food/drink and auction/raffle items for events when necessary
· Work with the Outreach Director to recruit and manage volunteers for events
· Secure equipment and rentals as needed; set up, tear down, and help coordination of overall event execution
· Work with Communications Director and Graphic Design Intern to develop all event marketing collateral
· Assist Social Enterprise and Marketing Intern in coordination of volunteers and execution of vending opportunities
· Attend all fundraising events as an on-site manager
Training
· Salesforce.com (online donor database) training
· Continuous training from Outreach Director in all areas
· Occasional international development trainings at Posner Center
Support
· Ongoing support and supervision from Outreach Director
Commitment
· 1 semester, minimum
· 10-20 hours per week, flexible
· Flexible schedule
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree, or in process, in related field preferred
· Experience planning large events
· Ability to multitask and work on a variety of jobs at one time
· Excellent organizational and planning skills
· Detail-oriented, motivated, and self-directed
· Optimist who believes the world can be a better place
· A commitment to Children’s Future’s mission
