The US M&O Developer Evangelism and Experiences (DX) team is looking for a motivated, creative and hungry leader to drive our online learning and virtual events programs. DX’s mission is a unique and exciting charter to secure the next generation platform by driving adoption through evangelism, community engagement, audience marketing and a vibrant solutions ecosystem. Our technical audiences of Developers, IT Pros and STEM Students are at the very core of all of these efforts.
Learning is a critical part of the journey towards true, lasting adoption. The Online Learning & Virtual events lead will drive the strategy and execution plan across online channels to train key DX audiences and build lasting relationships as they grow in their usage of key Microsoft technologies, including Azure, Visual Studio, Windows Server, Windows and Windows Phone.
This lead will have the opportunity to partner with key stakeholders across the company to build engaging education content, design and execute premier virtual events, and build integrated marketing plans to drive demand and ongoing dialogue to support the learning motion. The target audiences number in the MILLIONS - so the ability for this role to drive impact is MASSIVE.
Key responsibilities include:
Establish technical learning paths for key DX audiences and ensure relevant training content is in place to serve audience needs as the move along the platform adoption curve
Design and execute moment-in-time virtual events to engage and train existing users and bring in new audiences
Architect and land demand generation programs in partnership with the Go-to-market team, including email, social and paid media
Serve as the ROB lead for online learning and virtual events within DX including monthly and quarterly business reviews, MYR, and all other executive reviews
Pilot new, innovative ways to leverage online channels to deliver learning content, especially for non-traditional Microsoft audiences (students, startups, competitive)
Partner with key stakeholders to launch innovative end-to-end marketing campaigns and programs to expedite adoption of Visual Studio, Windows Server, Azure, Windows Phone and Windows 10.
Provide regular and timely reporting on key performance indicators/ metrics to LT and field, along with implications and insights based on the data, compete landscape, and overall market trend.
Demonstrate rigor around financial management in alignment with budget and forecast.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have the ability to think strategically about the business, and drive effective cross group collaboration across multiple key stakeholders. A minimum of 5 years of IT industry experience with a proven track record of successfully leading global or subsidiary-wide marketing campaigns and programs with tangible results. Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer/information science, business or equivalent, MBA preferred. Candidate must have an amazing cross-teaming track record, a passion for the developer audience/space, along with very strong written and verbal communication skills.
