The Exchange-Enterprise Cloud team runs a rapidly growing service for our largest customers. Our team hosts Exchange for many Fortune 500 companies & federal agencies, providing a high reliability service on dedicated hardware. Currently, we manage over 3 million mailboxes, and our customers have high expectations around customization of the environment, reliability and availability of the service and the responsiveness of our customer service. As the service grows, investment in our Services infrastructure, Tenant/Customer Management Stack & Experiences, Security, etc. is critical to meeting our customer expectations. We are part of the Exchange Product team & are expanding our engineering team to meet the needs of our growing business.
We are looking for an experienced developer for our Deployment and Incident Lifecycle Team. We build differentiated scenarios/features targeting the large Enterprise customers. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of software development experience with strong design & coding skills. A proven track record of delivering complex projects is required. Candidate should be creative, highly-motivated, quick learner and a good team player. Prior work building Server/Service Management features is a plus.
This position requires strong communication skills and ability to work within a team spanning many concurrent projects. Candidates must function well in a distributed team environment. Candidates need to be organized with a proven ability to make the correct decisions under pressure, have a strong ability to self-manage deliverables, and communicate status to a distributed organization.
Job Responsibilities:
Resolve technical/code-issues blocking large-scale service deployments
Dive into deployment blockers at a code/script-level to articulate bugs and write/suggest fixes
Manage issues back to various teams within the Exchange Product Group to ensure quick resolution as to not impact deployment efforts or schedule
Build and improve the tools and processes used by a team of engineers to manage servers/services at scale for Office 365 Exchange
Provide strategic technical guidance to meet availability and uptime requirements for services
Delegate and prioritize day to day tasks
Drive automation of routine tasks to engineering and drive process improvement within the team
Skills /Knowledge:
Development & Test skills demonstrated in large, distributed systems and/or complex, multi-team development projects
Strong analytical skills and the ability to develop solutions to solve service issues
Demonstrated ability to multitask and drive multiple technical issues to resolution simultaneously
Overall clear understanding of operations and change management
Experience / Qualifications:
2 Year+ experience in running 24x7 mission critical, enterprise systems
4 Year degree in Computer Science preferred or equivalent work experience in relationship to systems development, network operations, software support and/or I.T. consulting
Candidates must be able to meet customer security screening requirements as indicated for this role.
