Regional Category Manager (Games)
Windows is on the threshold of its next step forward with Windows 10. A big part of this next step is innovation in helping Windows customers discover and experience apps, games and content created by developers and publishers through the Windows Store. We’ve started that journey, are growing, and looking for passionate professionals who want to create, market and run this new experience with us.
The Windows Store team is seeking a passionate, bright, customer focused, and data-driven candidate to join our team. As a Regional Category Manager you will build credible game assortments for your region and conceive, create and analyze a wide range of merchandising efforts to grow customer engagement, customer conversion, and revenue. Within this cross-functional role you will work closely with business operations, program management, business intelligence, business development, and other marketing leads to build and execute compelling campaigns and promotions for our customers.
The ideal candidate will be a thoughtful, team oriented, high-energy, self-starter with strong business acumen, acute analytical skills, and the demonstrated ability to use creative thinking and innovation to solve complex problems. He or she must have a proven track record in taking ownership, driving results and moving with speed to implement ideas in a fast-paced environment. A passion for games and the mobile space is a must!
Specific job responsibilities include:
Define region-specific strategy that delivers a quality, locally relevant Games Store with the goal of improving customer engagement & monetization
Implement best in class customer experiences and compelling calls-to-action to achieve content acquisition, customer engagement objectives, and category financial objectives
Evaluate weekly and monthly regional usage & monetization against key performance indicators and present findings to senior management and internal stakeholder teams
Create, distribute and optimize marketing campaigns for third and first party games content
Design customer-facing experiments and conduct A/B testing to maximize customer engagement
Analyze customer data and make recommendations for improved execution and ROI
Analyze and communicate results of marketing, promotional and customer experience efforts to internal stakeholders
Work cross-functionally to implement new merchandising strategies, with the goals of engaging better with customers and driving long-term revenue
Provide business requirements for new store features and provide feedback via user test workflows
As a qualified candidate you will need to demonstrate:
A keen appreciation and passion for the power and possibilities of mobile applications, and a strong desire to create consumer delight by driving discovery of and engagement with great applications
Deep understanding of the business dynamics in eCommerce and digital distribution of content
The quantitative analysis skill and qualitative judgment to assess, select and promote high quality content on a daily basis
Outstanding interpersonal skills and work habits allowing you to deliver results
An ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing and prioritizing multiple tasks while meeting deadlines under pressure
Professional experience in defining and executing consumer marketing through a combination of mobile, online and digital merchandising
Proven ability to collect and synthesize inputs from multiple sources, both inside and outside the team
Have the ability to distil trends and provide clear analysis that tells a succinct business story
Executive presence and business maturity
The following are required for consideration:
This individual should have a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in digital marketing or ecommerce. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English.
Business-level communication proficiency in non-English language(s), including reading and speaking, along with cultural understanding preferred.
MBA from top tier program preferred.
