Our client, a leading firm of accountants seek an Accountant to manage a portfolio of clients ensuring they receive the top service and advice.
Based centrally in lovely offices, close to main transport links and offering flexible working hours, this role is a great opportunity for someone with a solid background in practice seeking a new challenging role
The Limited Company department is in a large period of growth, by building up external relationships to generate referrals and also acquiring other contracting accountancy firms.
This role would ideally suit a part qualified, newly qualified or qualified-by-experience accountant. The main objectives are to ensure the team within Limited Company is supported technically and providing compliant and sound advice for a portfolio of contractors. This is a key role in an ambitious fast moving and growing business.
- Review of year-end accounts prepared by other team members, ensuring they are compliant and the relevant paper work and processes have been completed.
- Ensuring that the technical knowledge of the team is kept up to date through assistance and guidance.
- Assisting the quarterly management accountants where required.
- Responding to inbound client queries via telephone/email.
- Providing proactive outbound advice to clients both new and existing.
- Preparation and review of client references.
- Working with outsourcers to maintain standards and improve procedures.
- Closedown / Capital Distribution /MVL processing.
- Solid basic understanding of IR35 regulation.
- Experience of working in a practice dealing with small businesses.
- Experience in preparing & reviewing accounts & CT600s prepared under UK GAAP, FRSSE.
- Some experience of P11D’s and personal tax returns.
- Experience in calculating tax liabilities (Self Assessment / Corporation tax).
- Technical knowledge in areas of company tax, VAT & personal tax.
- Confident with client interaction, in person, written and via telephone.
- Experience operating a limited company payroll would be beneficial.
- Good computer skills and basic understanding of accounting practice software.
- Ability to work as part of a team yet self motivated and target driven.
- Friendly and approachable manner is essential.
- Excellent organisation skills with proven experience of working to deadlines.
- Excellent multi-tasking ability.
