• Drive and analyze costing activities at the product and component level with IC suppliers






• Interface with Marketing & Engineering regarding pricing and availability for high volume manufacturing of ICs (Flash; EEPROM; DRAM etc.)






• Proactively investigate new market trends, supplier roadmaps and present to BRCM engineering the best path to take from a technology; cost; supply standpoint for new reference designs






• Review and analyze quotes submitted by suppliers to ensure lowest costs possible across entire BOM






• Utilize contract negotiation, process changes, and implementation of sustainable cost controls






• Develop and deploy cost reduction/profit improvement plans with suppliers






• Prepare Business Cases, including ROI models, and effectively present rational for cost savings opportunities






• Co-Champion BRCM Preferred Supplier Program for the IC’s Commodity. This individual should strive to be a cost expert and must be a self-starter/team player






 






• Typically requires a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering and a Masters in Supply Chain Management, with 6-10 years of related experience






 • A strong working knowledge for costing BOMs in high volume electronic assemblies is essential – A strong understanding of IC suppliers leading the technology in current market conditions is a must






• Diplomatic, able to understand and work well with other functions such as Marketing; Engineering; Finance & Operations.






• Technical competency is critical






• High competency in negotiations






• Ability to work in a fast paced, task-focused environment






• Requires strong communication, problem solving and analytical skills.






• A high level of proficiency with Microsoft office products especially Excel required






• Experience in Agile and/or SAP highly preferred
