Corps Member job - California Conservation Corps - Merced, CA


The young women and men of the Corps work hard protecting and restoring California’s environment and responding to disasters, becoming stronger workers, citizens and individuals through their service. Residential assignments are available throughout California.


Although the CCC is a job training program, members are paid $9.00 per hour and receive basic medical; can earn vacation and sick leave credits; receive 10 state paid holiday days off per year; and can earn scholarship money.


We also assist those members without a high school diploma. They will attend charter school with the CCC to earn a high school diploma.

Eligibility:


  • Ages 18 to 25 (projects for veterans to age 29)

  • Not on parole, nor on supervised/formal probation

  • No violent crime or felony drug crime convictions

Commitment:


  • Willing to work outdoors

  • Participate in spike projects (camping in the wilderness 4 to 8 days average)

  • Respond with your crew to emergencies such as wildland fires, earthquakes, oil spills, etc.

Salary: $9.00 /hour
