Job Description


Versata Support provides software support services to customers who use our 25+ software products and our Level 1 support agents are the face of the company to our customers. We are looking for Level 1 support agents who are passionate about helping customers and if this appeals to you, then you should strongly consider this position. Specifically, we are looking for Level 1 agents who fit the profile below.


Required Skills and Experience


  • Customer Orientation – You must be able to look at issues from the customer’s perspective and empathize with their situation, so you can be an effective agent and advocate.

  • Communication Skills – You must have excellent written and verbal communications skills and strong listening skills, so you can ask good questions and provide viable solutions to our customers. You must be fluent in English.

  • Technical Skills – You don’t need to be a programmer or engineer in this role, but you do need to have above average computer skills, so you can learn our products and resolve basic operating system and/or database related issues.

  • Customer Support Ticket Handling Skills – You need to be able to interact directly with customers (in English) through phone calls, emails, a ticketing system and live chat to be effective in this role.

  • Business Orientation – 95% of our customers are businesses. You don’t need to be an expert in their specific industry, but you will need to be able to understand the impact each issue has to their business based on the information they provide, so you can effectively prioritize the customer issues assigned to you.

  • Time Management and Prioritization – As a Level 1 Agent, you will have at least 10 issues in your caseload at all times, so you will need to manage your time and adjust your priorities as your caseload evolves.

You will need:

  • High quality internet connection as our Level 1s use VOIP calling frequently.

  • A working webcam.

For U.S. citizens and permanent residents who are hired into an ongoing contract, we will hire you as an employee (W-2) at $8/hr (instead of an independent contractor) which gives you access to benefits and reduces your federal tax burden.

Working Hours


: This job is only offered on a Full Time basis (40 hrs/wk). Level 1 Agents work between 8 am and 6 pm Eastern Time, including breaks, Monday through Friday. Please note that we do observe US Daylight Savings Time, so Eastern Time is UTC-4 in the summer and UTC-5 in the winter.To qualify, please provide a resume/CV demonstrating the required experience and skills. From there, to help us find the top 1% of talent, we ask that you first complete some screening tests. After you pass our screening tests, there will be a paid trial week where we provide training and ask you to show us your skills. At the end of your trial week, we will either extend an ongoing contract, place you in another position, or release you from the trial. Please note: For U.S. citizens/permanent residents, we’ll hire you into the trial week at $9/hr (independent contractor, no benefits). If we decide to hire you for an ongoing role, we’ll move you to an $8/hr package with benefits (W-2 employee).
