Example of Duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Other duties may also be assigned.
- Serves as receptionist at a work site.
- Provides secretarial support for all staff.
- Greets visitors and guides them to the proper place.
- Answers and relays all incoming calls as directed.
- Keeps necessary records of calls and visitors.
- Answers inquiries and gives general information as requested following established guidelines.
- Monitors equipment and reports needed maintenance and repair.
- Types letters and reports and performs other clerical duties as necessary.
- Receives restitution from defendants for Victim Witness, provide receipts and keep a record log book.
- Copies and delivers completed time sheets.
- Uses data base system to assist law enforcement, attorneys and public with court hearing dates.
- Prints reports and prepares initial letters for all police reports received by Victim Witness.
- Maintains Officer’s Court date list, including updates and distribution to Courts and Attorneys.
- Calls off witnesses/victims.
- Prepare initial letters on incident reports received by Victim Witness.
- Data entry for initial letters and officer notices.
- Prepares mailings for Victim Witness Program.
Typical Qualifications:
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education and/or Experience : Any combination of education or experience equivalent to Highs School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required. Clerical work and typing experience is required. General knowledge of court system is preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Possession of a valid and appropriate driver’s license.
Language Skills : Ability to read and comprehend. Ability to write using proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Ability to speak and communicate effectively using correct English.
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Some knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, equipment and clerical techniques. Some knowledge of receptionist procedures. Ability to work multi-line phone system. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general public and other employees.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CHARACTERISTICS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
Required Physical Activities : Requires light physical effort working almost exclusively with light weight materials (up to 25 pounds) including but not limited to walking, talking, stooping, kneeling, light lifting, bending, crawling and gripping.
Vision Requirements : Minimum requirements set by the Division of Motor Vehicles.
Environmental Conditions : Work is conducted indoors under controlled temperatures.
EQUIPMENT ESSENTIAL TO DO THE JOB : Telephone, copy machine, calculator, computer, typewriter, fax machine, printer.
