Broadcom’s BCG Settop box group has an immediate opening available for a Senior-level Hardware Engineer focusing on RF and analog systems engineering and design. Activities will relate primarily to Broadcom’s Satellite silicon tuners, both narrowband and full-band capture technologies. Responsibilities include RF/analog design, optimization, checkout, test and customer support. Intefaces also include DiSEqC and FSK. RF design includes amplifier and filter design, frontend simulation, schematic capture, component selection. Candidate will also work with other set-top box engineers and associated technologies/interfaces as part of overall daily activities.
Requirements:
– BS + 12 years of experience, MS + 9 years of experience, or PhD + 6 years of experience
– Understanding of RF fundamentals, such as noise figure, gain, linearity, filtering, etc.
– Perform rf design regarding Set-Top Box (satellite) front ends
– Perform system modeling and simulations to verify / optimize designs using advanced software tools
– Performed detailed lab work using rf test equipment to characterize / optimize rf circuits. Includes network analyzer and spectrum analyzer
– Document designs and result, and generate reports
– Schematic capture tools with rf and analog layout experience
