Employee will work at the counter of a Secretary of State Branch Office processing driver licenses, titles, registrations, permits and voter registrations for Michigan residents.
The State Worker position is a temporary, non-career position that is limited to working a maximum of 719 hours per appointment. Non-career employees are not eligible for insurance benefits or paid time off, however, they may participate in a deferred compensation plan 401k and/or 457. These positions may lead to career growth opportunities within our Department.
Incumbents will work a varied schedule of 0 to 40 hours per week. Occasional travel may be required for relief assignments at other branch offices located with the Region. (Travel reimbursement may be available in accordance with Department travel policies.) To be considered for these positions, applicants must be available for the following days/hours:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday: 8:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Wednesday: 8:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
*Saturday: 8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
*Note: In accordance with union contract agreements, employees assigned to offices located with 25 miles of a Super Center may be required to work Saturday’s.
