being responsible for strengthening Action Against Hunger’s relationship with institutional donors in Washington DC. The Donor Relations Officer (DRO) assists to define and implements a join institutional fundraising strategy throughout the ACF network with primary responsibility for USA based donors.
Key activities in your role will include:
- Develop and implement ACF’s strategy for engaging with USAID.
- Pro-actively develop and manage the relationship with USAID in order to ensure the expansion of the existing funding portfolio, in line with ACF’s country and thematic strategic priorities and the donor engagement strategy. Pro-actively communicate with USAID the achievements and successes of ACF and its funded programs.
- Coordinate with ACF NY Headquarters and ACF International Headquarters to gather information on Country Offices strategies and plans.
- Coordinate and facilitate USAID Grant development, management and quality.

- You have Master Degree in relevant discipline in a field related to social sciences, development or public health and/or equivalent experience gained.
- You have at least 3 years working with a humanitarian or development organization.
- You have field level experience of working in emergency and/or development settings and a solid understanding of humanitarian principles and current global sectorial issues.
You have experience working with and/or knowledge of USAID/OFDA
- You have experience of building strategic relationships and partnerships to develop further opportunities for an organization.
- You are able to work independently and under tight deadlines, and to multi-task.
- You can demonstrable project management skills
You have the following competences
- Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues and supervisory staff at all levels.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Positive attitude and strong analytical, interpersonal and coordination skills.
