Chemonics is seeking an accounts payable (AP) manager to join our Finance and Administration Division. This position is responsible for ensuring that payments to vendors and reimbursements to staff are booked correctly and processed in a timely manner, serves as the main resource for explanations and clarifications of our accounting procedures, and provides oversight to AP associates. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
Responsibilities include:
• Guide and oversee staff to ensure accurate and timely review and booking of transactions
• Manage the accounts payable team and assist in day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring that deadlines are met and tasks are completed
• Provide explanations and clarifications of Chemonics" financial policies and procedures to project management units
• Review, analyze, and resolve errors in reports, statements, invoices, and other materials to ensure compliance with regulations
• Supervise, develop, and evaluate assigned staff, ensuring that staff members receive regular constructive performance feedback, prompt resolution of problems, and time and opportunity to grow professionally
• Facilitate meetings and develop agendas to achieve stated group goals, documenting progress, agreements, and issues and providing follow-up assistance to groups
• Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
• Minimum three years of accounting experience; management and USAID/government regulations experience preferred
• Minimum two years of experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and invoicing
• Knowledgeable with accounting systems; Solomon experience preferred
• Ability to solve technical, managerial, or operational problems and evaluate options based on relevant information, resources, well-rounded experience, and knowledge
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, and lead presentations, training courses, and meetings
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational and work prioritization skills and attention to detail
• Supervisory experience preferred
• Demonstrated leadership, versatility and integrity
