Global Advocacy Campaign Director


Habitat for Humanity International is currently seeking a Global Advocacy Campaign Manager. If you have a passion for doing meaningful work, a desire to learn and have experience running advocacy campaigns then this might be the opportunity for you. The candidate will lead Habitat for Humanity International"s global advocacy campaign (Solid Ground) by working closely with the Government Relations and Advocacy Office as well as Habitat"s area and national offices to implement a global campaign strategy and the strengthen Habitat"s voice and advocacy efforts through measurable results.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1) Monitor and report on campaign performance.

2) Provide analyses on campaign performance and make recommendations to staff as well as to Habitat"s Area and National Offices.

3) Assist Habitat"s Area and National Offices with creating local and regional campaigns, including developing program projections and budgets.

4) Communicate campaign expectations to operational.

5) Establish and maintain relationships with new and existing campaign partners.

6) Develop strategy to increase the network of key contacts in the NGO, corporate, academics, celebrity, and media sectors that are supportive of HFHI"s advocacy objectives.

7) Leverage HFHI"s campaign assets to enhance HFHI"s brand and increase the quality and quantity of HFH advocacy actions in the key global markets.

8) Research fundraising opportunities and help work on applications to secure funding for campaigns and report to campaign funders regularly.
Skills and Experience:


  • Experience working on campaigns, preferably which were both global and advocacy campaigns.

  • Experience working in a senior level position within international development, civil society, media, or government.

  • Experience in using quantitative and qualitative analyses methods to assess campaign effectiveness and recalibrate if necessary

  • Awareness of housing, land and security of tenure issues globally.

  • Understanding of how to use policy analysis, research, lobbying, public campaigning, media, communications and alliance building to influence the political agenda.

  • Proven experience of engaging with and influencing the decision makers.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and consensus building with an ability to manage complex and sensitive organizational relationships.

  • Highly proficient at establishing strong partnerships across organizations and engaging stakeholders at all levels to achieve optimal outcomes.

  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.

  • Excellent communicator and ability to reveal complex issues in a simple and clear manner to a wide variety of audiences across diverse channels.

  • Verbal, written and particularly persuasive skills must be strong.
    Preferred:

    Global experience within campaigning

    Exposure to different cultures and extensive travel abroad.
    Education and Experience:

    Bachelor"s degree in Communications, Political Science, Business, Marketing , Public Relations, International Development or a related field of study.

    At least 7 years experience in developing and implementing advocacy campaign strategies within a national, international or high profile organization. About Habitat:
