Customer Service Agent I - SEPTA - Philadelphia, PA

SEPTA is recruiting for Customer Service Agents in its Customer Service Department. The successful candidates will work in customer service commuter offices at various locations throughout the service area and provide accurate service information for the five county area served by SEPTA and respond to system inquiries in a courteous, professional and timely manner. Successful candidates must pass a must pass a battery of pre-employment written tests (Data Entry, Customer Service and Math). Must be able to work flexible hours – you may be required to work evenings, weekends, holidays, extended shifts, and working at satellite offices. The successful candidate must possess a high school diploma or GED with five (3) years’ experience working in a customer service environment, and two (2) years’ contact center experience. Customer Service experience must include interacting directly with customers, providing service and resolving customer concerns. Must possess: Ability to read maps, schedules and other hard copy reference transit materials. Ability and willingness to deal with diverse group of employees and customers Excellent verbal communication skills and telephone protocol. Excellent customer-friendly disposition. Thorough knowledge of service routes and service area with exchange privileges and points. Thorough knowledge of fare collection and structure. Must possess ability to navigate Microsoft Windows including Explorer and desktop applications. Excellent written communication skills required The starting salary for this position is $23.19 an hour.
