United States of America: Business Associate: ICT Policy and Programs


GENERAL FUNCTION


Under the supervision of the ICT and Latin America portfolio Vice President, the Business Associate’s primary responsibilities are supporting, monitoring and analyzing the project portfolio’s financial performance and planning. The Business Associate also provides high level operational support to the projects within the portfolio.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.


  • Develop and provide financial and operational guidance and support to portfolio

  • Support planning and completion of grants and contracts

  • Prepare and deliver monthly presentations on portfolio’s performance

  • Represent to, and coordinate with current and potential donors and program partners as needed;

  • Liaise with program and business managers in-portfolio and other departments at Internews;

  • Provide VP, Regional Managers, and Project Directors essential support during project and office start-up and close-out including technical launch, review business operations systems and training of operational staff;

  • Support partners/grantees with proposal, budget, financial reporting and organizational development;

  • Conduct partner and grantee site/monitoring visits as required;

  • Support implementation of policies, procedures, as well as follow up to audit finding responses;

  • Manage relationships with grant recipients, including as required including negotiations, coordination, support to program and field communications and review of narrative and financial reports as required;

  • Other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS


Required


  • International experience with non-profit project management, operations and/or coordination

  • Experience developing or supporting U.S. govt., European govts. or private foundation funded programs;

  • Experience with financial analysis, bookkeeping and financial management or program support;

  • Grant proposal and budget development experience;

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills including diplomacy, tact, and the ability to negotiate;

  • Excellent communication skills: speaking, writing, and listening;

  • Proven ability to set priorities and manage time effectively;

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving ability;

  • Proven ability to work both independently and as an effective team member, including coordination;

  • Proven ability to prioritize and handle multiple on-going assignments;

Preferred


  • Experience with financial management

  • Familiarity with USAID and/or other international aid donor rules and regulations

  • Experience with legal/regulatory issues and/or policy advocacy a significant asset;

  • Proficiency in a second language preferred;
