PSI seeks candidates for the position of Intern to support program management functions of the Asia and Eastern Europe department. The position requires flexibility and willingness to assume various duties while looking for ways to add value to the team. It is essential that the candidate be able to prioritize and perform multiple tasks, while working with minimal supervision and following through on assignments.
The intern position is based in Washington, D.C., and reports to the Program Coordinator. This is a paid position for 40 hours per week. The position is open for a 3 month contract with the potential to extend based on performance. Preference will be given to candidates seeking long-term employment with PSI.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties include, but are not be limited to:
- Responding to internal and external requests for information;
- Editing and formatting reports and other project or presentation documentation;
- Researching selected topics (e.g. health, marketing, communications);
- Assisting with travel arrangements, meeting logistics and expense report preparation;
- Assisting in preparation and tracking of payment requests;
- Performing financial/data analysis;
- Assisting in proposal writing and editing;
- Creating and maintaining filing systems; and
- Fulfilling other programmatic and administrative functions as required.
QUALIFICATIONS: - BA in a related area of study;
- Experience working in a fast paced office environment;
- Excellent communication skills;
