SUMMARY: Under general supervision, performs a variety of semi-skilled and customer service related work in the fuel farm operations and the general operation of the airport.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Meets all transient aircraft pilots; guides the aircraft safely to a parking spot; assists in securing aircraft with chocks or tie downs; takes fuel orders.
• Performs daily fuel quality tests; checks inbound fuel for proper quality; maintains refueling equipment; dispenses oil.
• Calculates fuel and other charges, prepares sales invoices.
• Completes and submits daily logs of sales of fuel and oil daily and monthly.
• Submits daily lists of inventory of; fuel downloaded, uploads, tank levels, retail pump readings, retail products, overnight parking, FBO payments and receipts, fueling equipment disposition, and maintenance.; maintains inventory of supplies.
• Performs preventive maintenance and minor repairs on airport equipment and structures.
• Operates a hand-held radio to communicate with supervisor, coo-workers and the airport Tower.
• Complies with Control Tower requests for assistance for mitigation of Foreign Object Debris (FOD), prevention of taxiway and runway incursions by aircraft, persons or animals, assist in cases of aircraft or other emergencies, accidents, and incidents.
• Responds to requests for information from pilots or quests visiting airport.
• Performs opening and closing routines for shift.
• Monitors weather conditions from automated weather observation system and records data.
• Performs shift change accounting and closes out fuel pump Computers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:


High school diploma or equivalent. Two years of full-time experience in an aircraft operations area including customer service experience. OR Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

EMPLOYMENT TESTING:


•Employment is contingent on passing post-offer, pre-employment drug testing and criminal background investigations.


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:


Knowledge of: • General airport operations and safety principles.
• Handling and dispensing of fuel safely.
• Aircraft service techniques.
• Customer relations techniques


Skill in:
• Communicating effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Conducting public contacts in an appropriate and professional manner.
• Operating airport equipment and vehicles to maintain and service aircraft, building and grounds.
• Performing basic arithmetical calculations and maintaining accurate and complete records.
• Establishing and maintaining effective relationships..
• Understanding and carrying out oral and written instructions.
• Working independently in the absence of supervision.
• Reading and understanding weather reports and fuel handling caution literature.
• Performing semi-skilled work in a variety of building and grounds maintenance and janitorial work,


Certification(s)/Licenses Required:


Valid Class C Texas driver’s license
Avfuel or equivalent certification or must obtain within one year of hire.
Fire Safety Training or must attend within one year of hire.
