The Member Service Representative ( Teller ) accurately and efficiently processes and records routine transactions for members including but not limited to cashing checks, accepting deposits and withdrawals, processing loan payments and money transfers. Promotes and advises members on credit union products and services. Provides exceptional member service at all times.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Accepts and processes deposits and loan payments
- Disburses cash as requested
- Performs specialized tasks such as preparing cashier’s checks, personal money orders, redeeming savings bonds, and preparing statements/print-outs of member’s account
- Balances currency, cash, and checks in teller drawer
- Performs services for members such as ordering checks, bank cards, and online banking enrollment
- Maintain up to date knowledge of all credit union products and services
- Answers inquiries regarding share and draft accounts and other related products
- Attempts to resolve issues and problems with member’s accounts, including fraudulent activity
- Identifies cross-selling opportunities and makes relevant referrals
- Ensures compliance with all internal controls and established policies and procedures, including opening and closing, balancing, and teller policy
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge/Skills
- Relevant computer skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Well organized with an attention to detail
- Ability to manage multi-functional tasks
Education/ Experience/Certifications/Licenses
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Banking/finance or customer service experience preferred
- Cash handling experience preferred
- Prior sales experience is preferred
- Some clerical, administrative, cash handling, sales a plus
