This is a temporary, full-time position. The hours are variable and will include working every other weekend.
The Resident Assistant is responsible for creating a welcoming, homelike atmosphere for the residents in the household. This includes preparing and serving snacks, assisting with dining, engaging residents in group or one-on-one activities, and addressing individual requests.
This position will include on-the-job training to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to serve food in accordance with all pertinent safety and health regulations, guidelines and standards; creates an atmosphere of warmth and welcome in the neighborhood; engage residents in group and one-on-one activities.
Knowledge and understanding of the aging process and related conditions.
Understands liberalized therapeutic diets and special food requirements.
Physical Requirements
Performs a variety of movements throughout the shift such as walking, standing, sitting, bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, lifting, carrying, reaching, grasping, pushing, and pulling.

This position requires successful completion of the following:
A Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) background check will be conducted on all finalists for this position. Finalists must pass the DHS background check.
Finalists will be required to pass a job-related pre-employment physical.
A Tuberculosis (Mantoux) screening (or chest x-ray) is required prior to employment.
Employee reference checks will be conducted on all finalists. This may include a review of documentation related to job performance. It also includes contact with the applicant’s former employer(s).
