Receives, stores, issues and ships materials.
Primary duties and Responsibilities
Inspects incoming materials to verify descriptions and quantities received.
Loads and unloads material.
Operates a variety of material handling equipment to move supplies.
Picks, packages and ships materials to various locations, as required.
Operates a computerized inventory control system to access and manage information.
Performs janitorial duties and other housekeeping tasks
Maintains the facility, equipment and materials in a neat, clean and efficient manner.
Uses other computer equipment to enter, organize and retrieve information.
Performs cycle inventory counts.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Required to possess the skills necessary to perform arithmetical computations including fractions, decimals and percentages.
- Must pass a physical examination and perform the physical activities associated with this position.
- Required to possess basic keyboarding skills and be familiar with hardware and software applicable to warehousing operations including AP/PO/IM and AIT Systems.
- Required to possess the skills and attributes necessary to competently operate the various types of mechanical equipment used in warehouse activities.
- Required to possess or obtain a valid State of Illinois Driver’s License.
- Required to transmit written and oral instructions.
- Must pass applicable tests.
- Required to have experience operating fork lift equipment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must have strength in standing when receiving, storing and issuing materials, walking up and down aisles; picking materials, sitting when writing received reports; operate computer.
- Must be able to lift and carry parts, equip., supplies, etc. up to 60 lbs and maneuver material to 100 lbs.
- Must be able to push hand truck, pallet, jack, carts, boxes, etc. and pull materials from racks and shelves, hand truck and pallet jack.
- Must be able to climb ladders to retrieve & place materials on racks/shelves stacks of material in the yard and balance on ladders when reaching for materials.
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl, when picking and placing material into lower bins/shelves.
- Must be able to reach when putting up and retrieving stock materials, handle stock materials as well as finger and feel.
- Must be able to communicate with user departments and Supervisor; must be able to hear instructions and approaching material moving equipment.
- Must be able to see near when reviewing purchase orders, move tickets, claims, etc, far to locate stock material; lot numbers, etc. and have color vision to identify certain parts and materials.
