Our client, a successful manufacture and supply company of world class music systems, is seeking an Engineering Manager to join their expanding team. Managing a small team, the individual will provide a fully managed and integrated engineering and quality function within the Operations Department and will be responsible for managing and supervising a team of 3-4 Production & Quality Engineers and Technicians.   • Implement and lead a Design for Manufacture (DFM) process

  • Investigate and evaluate new technology trends in the industry, against current and future requirements covering both in-house applications and contracted out manufacture.

  • Produce detailed labour and material costs for new / proposed products.

  • Construct and be responsible for Item Master, Bills of Materials, and Routing for products.

  • Ensure that adequate tooling is provided for the manufacturing operations and recommend any additional capital expenditure required to achieve desired objectives.

  • Review current production and finished goods stock for compliance with proposed and accepted changes and report to the Operations Director all corrective actions required, H&S implications or possible commercial implications.

  • Review new and existing proposals for parts / assemblies for work and materials content and proposed manufacturing methods for contracted out parts and assemblies

  • Maintain and analyse statistical records of quality performance and report significant variances to the Operations Director with recommendations of corrective action.

  • As appropriate liaise with customers on a technical basis with respect to their products, process or other technical requirements.

The successful candidate will possess the following skills:


  • An engineering oriented degree or equivalent

  • A minimum of three years’ experience in production / manufacturing engineering within a manufacturing environment role.

  • Working with third party sub-contractors

  • Ability to breakdown complex problems into fundamental components and develop solutions

  • Hands on approach

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Good organiser and good team worker
