Finance and Operations Director, Watford, Hertfordshire
£100,000 – £115,000 + car + bonus + benefits

Our Client, an organisation with a track record of achieving excellence within its chosen field, is looking to fill a pivotal role within the company, with the appointment of a versatile Finance and Operations Director.


Our client has grown consistently over the last decade and is now in the position where it can utilise senior level expertise to facilitate rapid growth and success moving forward. The strategic objectives have now been outlined and what is required now is an individual with sound commercial judgement to guide the business forward, challenge the status quo and constructively make the changes necessary to achieve the desired results.
The successful candidate together, together with the Chief Executive and senior management team will take responsibility for all aspects of running the business. Therefore the remit will not just be about numbers but the following key areas:


- Strategic Business Planning – produce the Three Year Plan, evaluate sales and contribution performance, and advise on appropriate acquisitions.
- Operational – assess and agree potential risks to the business, drive efficiency in management reporting, direct and control the preparation of the annual report, and effectively manage cash flow.
- Legal and Secretarial – understand the relevant legislative policies, and take the lead in governance matters.
- IT – assess the viability of key IT developments including cost benefit analysis and ensure projects run smoothly.


Candidates will be expected to be able to demonstrate examples of a pragmatic approach where effective decision making has been relied upon and which has subsequently impacted financial activity in a positive way. They will have all of the interpersonal skills required to develop and mentor staff, build long standing external relationships and influence and negotiate where appropriate. Finally, they will be able to contribute across the business providing a perspective that does not just focus on finance but rather across the board.


All applications must have an impressive academic profile including a professional qualification (ACA,ACCA,CIMA) as well as an employment record that conveys loyalty, meritocratic growth and achievement. Experience must have also been gleaned from a lengthy tenure within the retail/ FMCG sectors. Within this field, your career to date must reflect more than just financial prowess but rather a project focused collection of achievements where authority has been taken to bring about real change.
