Physician- Hospitalists for Sutter Lakeside
Sutter Lakeside hospital operates an acute care general hospital in Lakeport, California and contracts with Pacific Inpatient Medical Group for Hospitalist services. Hospital desires to ensure the availability of experienced physicians specializing in Hospitalists services to meet the needs of the hospital, its medical staff, and its patients including uninsured, under-insured and unassigned patients.
Professional Qualifications:
Each physician providing coverage services shall:
1. Hold an unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of California, be board certified or board eligible to practice internal medicine or family medicine, and be competent to provide the services required. 2. Be permitted to prescribe medications and hold a valid Drug Enforcement Agency permit; 3. Hold a certificate or eligibility for certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine or the American Board of Family Medicine, or be so certified within 3 years of eligibility. 4. Be a member in good standing with Hospital’s medical staff with applicable unrestricted clinical privileges and be subject to all of the attending privileges, responsibilities and conditions of membership; 5. Be eligible at all times to provide services to beneficiaries under the Medicare and Medi-Cal programs, qualify for and maintain status as a participating physician under Medicare and MediCal, qualify for Medicare risk-based and cost-based managed care plans, and execute and maintain on file with the appropriate Medicare and Medi-Cal carriers a valid agreement to accept assignment for professional medical services to individual patients. 6. Meet the position requirements as established by Hospital (board certified/board eligible internal medicine or board certified/board eligible family practice). 7. Not be in residency training, except as otherwise agreed upon by the parties.
Coverage Requirement
Physician is available to:
1. Admit and treat patients. 2. Provide medical assessments of Hospital ED patients as requested and effectuate a disposition of each patient to the medical appropriate level of care 3. Provide inpatient medicine and critical care medical services to Hospital patients 4. Advise and assist hospital staff regarding care and department planning; attend medical staff committee meetings as required by the medical staff bylaws.
5. Provide timely and competent care including, without limitation, early and timely rounding and facilitating arrangement of discharge planning as appropriate 6. Capable of covering patients in the ICU, including ventilator patients, Sepsis patients, and acute cardiac arrhythmia management. 7. Provide consults to specialists if requested, and co-manage patients with the specialists as needed.
