This position is a part of Southern Timberlands (North Carolina Timberlands) and reports to the NC Timberlands Manager. This is a Full Time, Non-Exempt position. Position is located at our Timberlands office in New Bern, NC.
Background:
This role provides administrative support to the NC Timberlands Manager and Lead Team members. Responsibilities include vendor administration, support in management of the NC Timberlands building/grounds, and coordination of office services. (This is a 17 acre plant site and the building houses 50 occupants.)
Key Functions:
Safety Leadership:
Safety role model; Ad Hoc member of Office Safety Team; NC Timberlands Safety Coordinator including facilitator for Central Safety Committee, plans and organizes safety workshops (in coordination with Training Element Champions), and keeper of safety records. Responsible for the implementation of the emergency preparedness procedures for the NC Timberlands building and testing.
Administrative Support:
Provide support to NC Timberlands Manager and lead team members. Coordinator for customer visits, tours, Presidents Forums and Legislative events for NC Timberlands. Assist with coordination and support of NC Timberlands activities including some reconciliation and preparation of presentations, planning and organizing logistics for various communication and educational sessions. Lead and facilitate Building Committee; develop and manage building budget, serve as resource contact for Cool Springs Environmental Education Center Contractors and maintenance of employee surveys.
NC Timberlands Building:
Administer contracts for NC Timberlands office building such as leases for office equipment, building maintenance or contracted services. Serve as building contact for New Bern mill-site managers for security, janitorial services, & vending services provided to NC Timberlands Office. Coordinate housekeeping standards are maintained and supervision of one building maintenance employee. Administrative Support of Building Tenants: Administer and coordinate ship/receive parcels and daily mail for building occupants. Coordinate and maintain Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for tours/visitors and office participants and general office supplies as needed.

Qualifications
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent required; AAS degree in Office Administration or higher strongly preferred
- Excellent personal computer skills including Microsoft Office software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook (e-mail & scheduling) and SharePoint
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment with good organizational skills, proactive, strong interpersonal skills, ability to prioritize, and an ability to coach and develop others
- Strong work ethic
- General knowledge of sound office practices
- Ability to anticipate and resolve issues with little or no direction
- Contract Administration experience desirable
