Duties:
This description of duties is not intended to cover all aspects of the duties of this position. The Clinical Dietitian will be involved in the professional practice of dietetics in accordance with the guidance set forth in Nutrition and Food Service policies and procedures, authorized scope of practice and VA regulations governing the practice of dietetics. The TeleMOVE dietitian is the medical nutrition expert responsible for independently managing the care for assigned clients, including those with complex medical and nutritional needs. Provides support of the facility’s mission and coordinates nutritional care with other health care providers, the client, the client’s family and the community. The increasing complexity and specialization in nutrition requires that the TeleMOVE dietitian have expertise in a wide range of disease entities, treatment modalities and drug/nutrient interactions. The main responsibility will be to serve as the Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) component of the Telehealth treatment team. Major responsibilities of the incumbent include but are not limited to : collaboration with the Home Telehealth (HT) team, screen and enroll veterans in the TeleMOVE weight management programs at all locations including community based outpatient clinics (CBOCs); improve the effectiveness, productivity, and satisfaction of patients; adhere to policy and guidance; maintain continual professional development clinical tools for use in the field. This position will provide support to the facility TeleMOVE coordinator and the MOVE! Coordinator.
Work Schedule: Mon thru Fri 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, may need to cover nights and weekends. Functional Statement Title/#: 00761-0 Dietitian, TeleMOVE
