Packer/Stocker – Chocolateer will help the general manager and his or her management team ensure that the store operates in a way that helps deliver excellent customer service, maximizes financial return, and fosters an environment that makes Ghirardelli a great place to work. The Chocolateer will be responsible for upholding the high standards of the company and its reputation.
Scope of Responsibilities Stocking and Pre-packing
- Assemble various proprietary retail items per the Recipe Guidelines
- Maintain adequate supply of all retail product needed for pre-packing builds
- Ensure all product is appropriately packed per Company Guidelines and State/Local Weights and Measurements requirements
- Maintain warehouse floor and products to Company Standards of cleanliness, FIFO
- Maintain detailed knowledge of all products, menu, lot coding, palletizing and Company History
- Maintain being professional in all encounters with guests and peers
- Assist Co-workers, Supervisor, and Management in delivering quotes and meeting deadlines
- Be able to work in fast paced environment
- Meet quotas and deadlines
- Be able to adapt to constant changes in priorities
- Flexibility to work in both sides of the warehouse shipping and co-packing
Maintenance and Sanitation
- Maintain a clean and sanitary condition of the warehouse per Company Guidelines
- Maintain all glassware and serve ware in a clean and sanitary condition per Company Guidelines
- Maintain levels of sanitation and cleanliness in regards to trash receptacles
- Maintain levels of sanitation and cleanliness in regards to floors
- Maintain the stockroom in a clean and orderly fashion per Company Guidelines
- Follow Food Safety guidelines for the proper storage, care, and usage of food items
- Clean windows and mirrors when they appear smudged or soiled or when directed by a Supervisor/Manager
- Maintain Guest and Employee Washing Facilities in good working order and in a clean, sanitary condition
Fountain/Food Service
- Properly Set Up, Pack, Maintain, Shipping and Packing area per Company Guidelines and Standards
- Utilize good judgment and practice to minimize or eliminate wasted product
- Replenish inventory items throughout the day as needed
- Maintain the proper levels and all required inventory and supplies
- Maintain shipping and packing area equipment in a clean and sanitary condition
- Keep knowledge level current of all products and their required preparation
- Work as a “Packer or Shipper” as needed
- Be knowledgeable of product, product menus, lot coding, and FIFO
- Follow Food Safety guidelines and Best Practices for the proper storage, care, and usage of food items
- Maintain all equipment and supplies in good working order
- Keep current of all Product Roll Outs
- Create all Candy items per Company approved recipes and guidelines
Specific Knowledge & Skills
- Clear, professional, and effective oral and written communication
- Teamwork and cooperative spirit
- Ability to manage time effectively and be self-directed under minimal supervision
- Familiarity with point of sale systems, such as MICROS
- Knowledge of restaurant or retail sector
Education & Work Experience
- One or more years of related experience in a fast-paced restaurant or retail environment
