The mail clerk opens and sorts all incoming mail to be processed by the data entry department.
Minimum Qualifications and Competencies:
• Able to follow instructions
• Capable of changing tasks when needed
Minimum Education and/or Experience:
• High School or GED
Computer Skills Required:
• Proficient with Word, Excel and window based programs
• Capable of ten key input and light data entry
Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior mail room or production background experience
Responsibilities include:
• sort the mail into stacks according to how the applicant answered the questions on the Tax Credit Questionnaire;
• ensure that the sorted forms have all of the vital information needed to be processed (First name and last name, SS# and three letter client code);
• deliver mail to other departments;
• Monitors mail received from email and fax accounts
• Manage postage that is to be billed back to clients
This is a general overview of the mail clerk position. On occasion they might be asked to help other departments with general clerical duties such as filling and light typing.
