Receptionist - Physician Clinic (PRN) - Vaughan Regional Medical Center - Selma, AL

Provides a variety of administrative tasks in order to provide patient care. Greets patients on arrival, registers patients to be seen by physician/ nurse practitioner, makes appointments, and answers telephone.

Verifies insurance and makes copy of insurance/ID card; if necessary notifies workers comp carrier.


Maintains awareness of type and number of appointments in order to ensure patients are seen in a timely manner.


Files and/or scans medical dictation, ancillary department records and other medical documentation in patient medical record.


Accurately documents messages and relays to appropriate personnel.


Maintains documentation for the patients file.


Takes applicable co-payments. Balances payments (co-pays and on account payments) taken in the clinic. Makes bank deposit and takes to hospital business office.


Verifies monthly credit card statement with our records.


**Must be able to work extended clinic hours, Monday through Friday.**


Qualifications


Education: HS/GED required; Associate Degree preferred.


Experience Previous office work experience preferred.


Skills: Typing, good public relations, read/comprehend written instructions. Independent worker who possesses initiative and excellent organizational skills. High degree of accuracy, concentration and confidentiality.


Physical Requirements: Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods, walk at least _2_ hours per day, lift/carry _5_ pounds, hear alarms and telephone rings, distinguish colors, perform repetitive tasks/motions, have good eye/hand/foot coordination, and have clear vision at 20 or more feet with vision corrective device.
