ICAP seeks a Temporary Development and Planning Associate to work within the Strategies and Partnership Unit to support the planning and implementation of new business initiatives.


Reporting to the Senior Development and Planning Manager, the Development and Planning Associate will contribute to pre-proposal planning, proposal development, and knowledge management activities and tasks.


This is a temporary, full-time position.


Major Accountabilities


  • Gathers and analyzes information about new funding opportunities; develops succinct summaries of solicitations; and carefully tracks the status of opportunities in the pre-bid phase

  • Maintains a funding opportunities pipeline and a dashboard of ongoing opportunities, as well as keeps track of key partnership discussions and decisions

  • Serves as the knowledge management focal point on specific proposal development teams

  • Contributes to the development and/or adaptation of institutional capacity statements, past performance references, organizational charts, skills matrices, and other key proposal-related supporting documentation

  • Maintains personal work management system for tracking tasks and follows up on actions to ensure timely completion of deadline-driven tasks and outcomes

  • Liaises with grant managers for completion of tasks related to cost proposals

  • Contributes to the planning and implementation of special projects

  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Education


  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in public health, international relations, development studies or other social science field

Experience, Skills & Minimum Required Qualifications


  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in in the area of development and/or international project planning and management

  • Experience with international health and/or HIV program design

  • Experience responding to funding solicitations from USG and non-USG entities, such as the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Institutes of Health (NIH), UN agencies, foundations, etc.

  • Excellent writing skills and excellent interpersonal skills

  • High degree of flexibility and attention to detail

  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills, demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team

  • Expert skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat

  • Ability to produce information quickly, juggle multiple demands, manage shifting priorities, and negotiate timelines

  • Demonstrated experience working with culturally diverse staff

  • Demonstrated negotiating and diplomatic skills

  • Demonstrated experience leveraging information technology and tools for optimal office performance

  • Good oral and presentation skills

  • Good planning, goal-setting and prioritization skills
