THE COLLEGE/ DEPARTMENT: The department has 38 full-time faculty and is committed to excellence in teaching and research. We offer an ABET accredited BS degree in Computer Science which includes mandatory co-op experience and currently enrolls over 750 undergraduate students, an MS degree with over 400 graduate students, and a PhD program administered within the B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences. Our college is RITs largest college with an enrollment of over 3600 students. The other units include Computing Security, Information Sciences and Technologies, Interactive Games and Media, and Software Engineering, providing many opportunities for cooperation and research collaboration.

Detailed Job Description:
Lecturers contribute to the academic mission of the Computer Science Department and will be responsible for course preparations, formal classroom and lab teaching, new lecture and lab course development in the areas of introductory and core Computer Science.  Lecturers are also responsible for student mentoring and contributing to the advancement of the Department through service assignments. Lecturers engage in professional growth through activities such as further study, writing, lecturing, and active participation in professional societies.

Required Minimum Qualifications:


  • MS in Computer Science or related discipline  by start date of contract .

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Teaching experience in the area of introductory computer science and at least one other area within the computer science core curriculum.

  • A strong commitment to undergraduate computer science education.

  • Ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the colleges continuing commitment to cultural diversity, pluralism, and individual differences.
