Salary Range: $68,300 annually


DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Receive and handle emergency telephone calls from governmental and public safety agencies, Resource Protection personnel, BNSF employees, and the general public

  • Perform a primary contact function and serve as an information source for Resource Protection as well as other BNSF departments

  • Provide pertinent contact services for BNSF customers

  • Coordinate Response to emergencies

  • Supervise contract security officers

  • Monitor physical access to the Network Operations Center and other facilities at corporate headquarters. Monitor various environmental and fire alarm systems

  • Protects and safeguards company assets and resources including personnel, property and customer’s property against criminal activity and terrorism

  • Conduct sensitive corporate and criminal investigations. Provide accurate, detailed reports and testimony when required

  • Duty shift assignments may include working nights, weekends and holiday

  • Perform other duties as assigned

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS


  • High School diploma or GED

  • Must have satisfactorily completed basic police training at a recognized state certified academy

  • Must meet peace officer commissioning standards in state in which this job is posted and be commissioned as such and maintain a valid State Peace Officer License in that state

  • Must have a valid driver’s license

  • Must have a basic working knowledge of computers and computer programs

  • Must be physically and psychologically fit, able to successfully pass any required company evaluations, pass an extensive background investigation, and any other state commissioning requirements

  • Must have a broad knowledge of criminal law and procedures

  • 18 months experience as a certified police officer

  • Must be able to meet any government or Company training and retention standards

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • College degree preferred

  • Bi-lingual in Spanish

BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION ELEMENTS

Extensive Pre-employment law enforcement background investigation in accordance with BNSF Railway Police on state commissioning or licensing requirements.
