GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Performs all duties to complete the payroll processing. Maintains and inputs data in Payroll/HRIS system. Monitors timekeeping. Processes check/payment requests and refund check requests, handles check disbursements. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)

- Processes check requests, including coding vendor number and GL account numbers on invoice if not already coded, matching invoice to purchase order and receiving reports.

- Updates and maintains vendor files.
*
- Checks invoices for correct dollar amounts, approval and back up.
*
- Selects accounts payable invoices for payment based on policies and processes cash disbursements.
*
- Generates checks and updates accounts payable database accordingly.
*
- Enters terminations and new employee information in HRIS.
*
- Updates employee information in HRIS as needed.
*
- Requests and enters HSA direct deposit accounts for employees.
*
- Monitors and corrects PTO as requested by managers.
*
- Makes adjustments or corrections to pays as required.
*
- completes the payroll process biweekly in a timely manner to ensure accurate payment to all employees.
*
- Distributes or mails paychecks.
*
- Communicates with employees to answer basic questions related to payroll, and the timekeeping system.
*
- Helps employees to understand basic payroll calculations and deductions, investigates problems and makes appropriate corrections.
*
- Pulls reports from HRIS/Payroll system.
*
- Enters and maintains employee garnishments including completing garnishment inquiries.
*
- Enters and maintains employee AP direct deposits.
*
- Available for other duties as assigned by supervisor.
*
- Participates in educational activities.
*
- Maintains strictest confidentiality.
Requirements:
Performance Requirements Knowledge, Skills Abilities: Knowledge of accounts payable practices and office procedures. Knowledge of coding and policies on accounts payable. Knowledge of basic payroll procedures. Skill in using computer and calculator. Advanced Excel, Word and Windows skills. Ability to examine documents for accuracy and completeness. Ability to prepare records in accordance with detailed instructions. Ability to work effectively with co-workers. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely. Education: High school diploma or GED required.
