“The Department of Leisure & Library Services has several Customer Service Representative positions in various locations, and the City of Sierra Vista reserves the right to change the schedule and/or location to accommodate the needs of the Department.”
Under immediate supervision, greets visitors, answers telephones, and provides customer service support for City activities and services. FLSA status: Non-Exempt.

Tasks:
Receives telephone calls, answers questions, provides information, transfers calls, and takes messages; announces visitors; processes registrations for community classes, trips, sports activities, and reservations; maintains calendars for the Leisure Services Department and maintains back-up files for reference; receives money for fees, provides receipts, balances, and makes daily deposits; works special event food booths; provides typing and clerical support for department personnel; assists in inputting payroll.
Processes reservation for City recreation facilities; processes requisitions, and checks requests and petty cash disbursements; assists citizens by listening and responding to their inquiries and complaints; initiates and maintains client service records; maintains financial records of activities and events as assigned; reserves City vehicles for department staff; completes facility request forms for use of public schools; records and transcribes minutes of committee meetings; assists in setting up for special events; types and distributes mass mailings and flyers; distributes incoming mail; aids in setting up, tearing down, and handling financial tasks for special events.

Department policies, procedures, and schedules of activities.

Municipal service rates, cycles, and procedures.
The City of Sierra Vista’s policies, procedures, standards, and software for fiscal services.
City policies, procedures, and organizational functions.
General City operations, functions, and services.
Skill in:
Maintaining records and accounts.
Cashiering.
Greeting and receiving visitors and telephone callers.
Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with City staff, customers, and the public.
Communicating effectively, orally and in writing.
Working in a multi-tasking environment.
Using office equipment, including personal computer, computer terminal, calculator, telephone, fax, and copier.
Multitasking.
Using department appropriate software.
Typing 35 wpm
Qualifications:
Graduation from high school or GED required. Two (2) years experience in each of the following: general office, cashiering, and customer service. A 35 net WPM typing certification required. Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona Driver’s License within 6 months of employment.
Typing Certifications
All applicants must submit an original 35 net words per minute typing certification. Certification must not be older than 6 months. The test must be for 5 minutes with one word per minute deducted for each error. The City of Sierra Vista does not accept internet typing tests. Submit original certificates to Human Resources, 1011 N. Coronado Drive, Sierra Vista, AZ, 85635.
The City will not accept internet or self administered certifications. Typing tests/certifications are available through the Cochise County Workforce (458-9309), located at 1843 Paseo San Luis; Sierra Vista Personnel for $15 (458-8826), located at 77 Calle Portal, Suite C-120,; Cochise College Testing Center 520-515-5447. You may also obtain a typing test/certification from any other employment service organization that administers in-person timed certified typing exams.
