United States of America: Finance Officer


The PPM Finance Officer is responsible for providing direct financial and operational support to PPM Senior Finance Officer and other team members in PPM Finance Unit with a focus on financial reporting and analysis, project closeout support, ad-hoc issue resolution as well as process and system improvement.


Specific Responsibilities


  • Produce routine and ad-hoc financial reports, project status updates, cash forecasts, freight buffer projections and other data analysis for both internal and external clients.

  • Support project closeout process including project due diligence, issue resolution, final invoice distribution, and knowledge management.

  • Work closely with Accounting group and ensure all transactions, adjustments or other changes are reported correctly and in a timely manner.

  • Work closely with internal units based overseas to resolve financial issues and to answer external client requests.

  • Work closely with MIS group to define, establish and improve web-based financial reports and financial monitoring tools.

  • Review existing financial processes and develop innovative excel models to meet the dynamic needs of the project.

  • Prepare Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and related supporting documents based on Quality Systems Unit guidelines.

  • Support other assignments as required.

Qualifications


Required:


  • BA/BS degree or higher in Finance, Accounting or a relevant field. MBA and/or CPA preferred.

  • 3+ years proven finance/business experience working with donor-funded development contracts, international projects or commercial supply chain organizations.

  • Must possess strong financial and analytical skills including working comfortably with large data sets, experience with creating complex financial models and efficiently communicating results through the use of supporting tables, graphs, and presentation quality materials.

  • Demonstrated advanced skills in Excel. Intermediate skills in Word and PowerPoint.

  • Must be able to effectively and professionally communicate with management and staff both written and verbally as well as demonstrate sound judgment and reasoning skills.

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with strong organization skills and ability to prioritize and successfully management multiple projects/deadlines simultaneously required.

  • Ability to focus on details and meet deadlines as required.

  • Strong problem solving skills.

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States of America.

Preferred:


  • Experience with BI Tool, ERP implementation or financial management / accounting software preferred.

  • Experience working with teams and clients in international time-zones.

  • Change management experience preferred.
