United States of America: Project Management Associate


Chemonics seeks project management associates for the West Africa and Haiti (WAFH) regional business unit. WAFH has a vast and diverse new business market and currently manages projects in Ghana, Nigeria, Haiti, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mali, and Cote d’Ivoire. The regional business unit also hosts the Conflict and Crisis practice. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.


Responsibilities include:


• Providing day-to-day support to project teams, including communicating with field offices and assisting with their requests
• Recruiting and fielding consultants
• Liaising with home-office support divisions on contract-related procurement, accounting, travel, and personnel issues
• Maintaining project files
• Participating on proposal teams and new business initiatives


Qualifications:


• Minimum 1-2 years of relevant work experience with ability to handle routine tasks and operational issues.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely orally and in writing.
• Willingness to travel and work abroad a minimum of 4 to 8 weeks per year; experience living or working in developing countries preferred.
• Strong administrative skills, word processing abilities, and attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to follow standard practices and procedures, receive general instruction and supervision on work progress, and make significant contribution to end results.
• Able to work on one or more projects and provide support to proposals.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Demonstrated resourcefulness in problem-solving and initiative to learn new skills.
• Strong knowledge of MS Office applications.
