RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
International Resources Group (IRG), a wholly owned subsidiary of Engility, seeks an Associatefor our Water and Environment Team to be based at our home office in Alexandria, VA to join the Agriculture, Climate, and Natural Resource (ACNR) Group within Engility’s International Division. The ACNR Group partners with local governments, the private sector, communities, and civil society to deliver sustainable impact across the development field. The Associate position in Water and Environment reports to the Water and Environment Practice Team Leader and works in close collaboration with other ACNR members, project partners, clients, and other International Business Areas. Regular travel is required, occasionally with short notice and for extended periods.
The successful candidate will contribute to new business development and program implementation working closely with relevant project managers and the Practice Leader. Associates for Water and Environment support overall project management to on-going contracts and support to capturing new business in existing and adjacent markets. The candidate should have some experience supporting water and/or environment programs and building a proficiency in new business development, proposal writing and contract management in international development.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to expanding IDSG’s business in a wide range of water and environment related programs by assisting in all aspects of capture including marketing and proposal development;
- Ensure that information about our opportunity pipeline is accurate and up-to-date and help support strong working relationships with clients;
- Support project management and field implementation including financial and contract management through oversight of tasks, including regular communication and collaboration with central and field project managers and technical officers, as required;
- Participate in short-term assignments as required on projects, both domestically and overseas.
- Provide technical guidance related to IDSG’s water and environment portfolio and projects.
- Work with the water team to provide support on programs, projects, and activities as assigned;
MINIMUM TANGIBLE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field;
- 3-5 years of experience with Bachelor’s degree;
- Applied technical knowledge in one or more of the following areas: water, environment, community and international development. The candidate should have a good understanding of current practices/trends related to international development;
- Experience in business development and strong skills in supporting proposal development; and
- Proficient in English with working competency in one or more of the following: French, Spanish, Portuguese, or Arabic.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree;
- 1-3 years of technical and project management experience with Master’s degree; and
- Two years of overseas experience in a developing country;
- Experience with USAID projects and understanding of USAID project management requirements.
