Summary

The Category Development Manager will develop and own the category management relationship with key accounts in the relevant category by taking our overall category strategy, drivers and tactics and customising these as required by using retailer specific insight, in order to gain disproportionate advantage for our brands in our customers.

Description


The Category Development Manager will have the following core responsibilities


1 NPD – driving excellence in the development of selling propositions grounded in the category strategy and drivers to help achieve maximum distribution on our new products
2 Distribution of existing range – driving excellence in the development of category rationale for achieving and maintaining maximum distribution on our existing range
3 Availability – driving excellence in the development of category rationale for improved space allocation for our brands, building on the customised category drivers and tactics
4 Retailer engagement strategy – to build relationships with the key customers by identifying category opportunities using our category strategy, developing customer specific tactics to unlock the category drivers in the relevant accounts and tracking customer progress against these drivers


This role will be the expert on generating comprehensive insights and a category story using all available continuous data sources for total coverage, channel and retailer, category and shopper


Profile


Suitable candidates for the Category Development Manager will have a strong track record in Category Management and will possess the following;


-Category analysis expertise


-Understanding of category management processes and techniques


- Examples of building and delivering compelling category and shopper stories


-Range review expertise


-Track record of working collaboratively with Sales and Marketing
