JOB PURPOSE:


To deliver a best in class credit control function. Responsible for the collection of debt owed to NPS, working with the business to resolve disputes in a timely manner and improve on accuracy of invoicing.


RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:


  • Accountable for a diverse portfolio of clients, as defined by the credit control team leader.

  • Developing working relationships with key contacts within the client organisation and ensuring payment of debt.

  • Responsible for actively managing the timely resolution of any invoice disputes raised by the client.

  • Achievement of monthly / weekly cash collection targets as set by the team leader

  • Negotiation, communication and setting of credit limits

  • Flagging disputed items, working with operations and finance teams to ensure prompt resolutions.

  • Flagging of key areas of risk and focus to the team lead, with recommendations and solutions.

  • Any other duties that may be required

People management and support


  • Ability to work as part of a team and support colleagues

  • Resilient, able to work across the organisation to resolve client queries to allow prompt settlement of debt.

  • Assisting the Credit Control Team Leader and finance as required

Finance transformation


  • Assist with the successful implementation of the accounts payable systems and processes

  • Challenge existing processes and working methods to deliver a programme of continuous improvement within both credit control and the wider organisation

PERSONAL QUALITIES, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:


Industry Experience


  • Preferable experience of working in a software based business

  • Preferably previous use of Morton Smith and SAP

Commercial qualities


  • Technical knowledge of current credit control practices

  • Experience of using Excel at a basic level

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of issues, events and activities and a perception of their longer-term impact or wider implications with a willingness to identify fresh approaches and challenge old assumptions

  • CICM Certified (Certificate in credit management)
