Work involves responsibility for training and supervising a group of clerical employees engaged in servicing accounts of utility customers. Lead supervision involves scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring the day-to-day activities of customer service, credit, and/or collection areas of a City department. The employee in this leadworker position will not be expected to recommend or issue formal disciplinary action against other bargaining unit employees. However, the employee shall be required to note deficient performance and/or disregard of City policy, procedures and rules by bargaining unit employees under his/her supervision and to report same to his/her immediate management supervisor outside the bargaining unit. The employee assists in the over-all management of the assigned unit by reviewing procedures, preparing and maintaining applicable records, verifying data processing runs. Work is performed under general supervision and is subject to review through conferences, submitted reports and observations of accomplished results.

Minimum Training and Experience:
Graduation from high school including or supplemented by courses in data processing and general business practices, and three years of progressively responsible experience in clerical and customer service work; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
