Project Manager – UK National Travel. Salary £65,000 + package. This is a full time temporary to permanent position Monday – Friday.


A leading Construction Company that build, refurbish and extend buildings across England, Scotland and Wales. An opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager with a proven track record of running and completing projects in excess of £1m to time and budget in sectors to include; Commercial, Industrial, Retail, Education and Leisure.


The role will be based in Hemel Hempstead but will have a national remit, delivering a wide range of minor works projects and managing a small team of technical staff.


You must have broad technical construction knowledge and be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of the construction management role, including procurement and management of subcontractors. You will have a proven track record of improving targets and achieving excellent results in Health & Safety, Environmental, BREEAM and CCS. You must be able to lead, support and motivate a team.


The role will focus on:
Overall management of a small team of specialist projects managers
Setting up quality procedures and ensuring these are implemented
Contribution to the bid evaluation and tender processes
Controlling and managing staffing for the projects
Ensuring competence of subcontractors in compliance with CSCS and UKCG requirements, prior to appointment.
Overall management of site health and safety, security and fire policies.
Ensuring construction environmental procedures are implemented on site.
Ensuring all elements of projects performance are monitored and reported on a regular basis
Preparing and issuing Project Management Plans, including regular reviews and revisions as necessary.
Being the single point of contact with the client’s team producing and presenting regular reports.
Establishing site administrative procedures.
Formulating and agreeing main contract programmes.
Setting and co-ordinating the achievement of agendas for the construction process.


The ideal candidate should possess:
A broad construction technical experience.
Team leadership experience
A relevant Health & Safety, Environmental, BREEAM and CCS qualification and experience.
Competent knowledge of IT packages.
Self-motivation.
HNC/Degree, CIOB or equivalent.
Full drivers licence.
