This position is responsible for assisting the hospital in the enforcement of security/safety- related regulations. Protects hospital patients, visitors, staff and property from hazardous conditions and/or criminal activities.

Qualifications: High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Must be at least 21 years of age. Must have served as a Public Safety Officer I for at least one year. Exceptions must be approved by the Operations Manager and Director of Public Safety. Previous experience in a Healthcare environment a plus. Ability to demonstrate excellent oral and written communications skills including the use of a personal computer and report writing. Must be able to endure the physical elements associated with outside work assignments. Must be able to deal with the public in a courteous and/or firm manner when necessary. Must be able to perform under stressful situations, achieve work objectives and maintain the hospital’s community relations philosophy. Must be certified in the use of X@ Taser. Must be certified in the use of the Hotshot Pepper Ball Spray. No criminal records/violations and no major driver offenses (DWI,DUI, reckless driving within three years, etc.)
