Beaver Country Day School is seeking a School Counselor to work with students in grades 6-12. Reporting directly to the Director of Counseling and Student Life, the school counselor will be part of a two-member counseling team and will work collaboratively with other administrators on student cases and initiatives. This is a part-time position for the 2015-2016 academic year.
The School Counselor will:
Assume responsibility for coordinating, planning and implementing individual counseling for students assigned by the Director of Counseling and Student Life
Maintain confidential student records related to counseling cases
Consult with parents, school faculty and school administration to identify and refer students that may benefit from outside counseling services
Participate in school meetings designated to address student concerns
Consult and communicate with appropriate school personnel and outside mental-health providers regarding students that may be experiencing social or emotional difficulties
Support school-wide wellness programming and student life initiatives
Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work or School Counseling
Professional licensure
Minimum of 5 years of experience with school-based clinical work with students in grades 6-12
Familiarity with independent schools preferred
