Children"s Future is uniquely positioned to empower children and youth to break the cycle of poverty. Children’s Future holistic services provide basic needs supports, prevent human trafficking, and grant access to education for some of the most resource poor and vulnerable children in Cambodia. Children’s Future serves hundreds of children and youth that were previously not attending school and at risk of human trafficking and child labor. Children’s Future programs focus intently on ensuring that youth stay in school, attend higher education and have the opportunity to achieve their fullest potential and become positive role models, qualified professionals, and compassionate community leaders.


Position Overview


The Graphic Design Intern is responsible for executing our brand, designing and building web pages for events and donation campaigns, maintaining and updating our website as needed, and performing other design tasks as needed. The Communications Director will provide oversight, but you will have a large degree of creative control in this position. The Graphic Design Intern"s work contributes to the outcome of giving some of the most vulnerable children in Cambodia the opportunity to receive quality education, leading to professional careers; additionally, it helps entire families to escape the cycle of poverty. The initial impact of this work is that students served by the Children"s Future Learning center will be safe, healthy, and in school, and that families of students served will improve their health, nutrition, and quality of life.


Key Responsibilities


  • Execute our brand across a variety of projects—flyers, newsletters, websites, banners, etc

  • Design and build web pages for events and donation campaigns

  • Maintain and update website as needed

  • Other tasks as needed

  • You will have a large degree of creative control with oversight from the Communications Director

Training


  • Experience creating professional, real world designs within an existing brand framework

  • Portfolio building

  • Salesforce.com (online donor database) training

  • Continuous training from the Communications Director in all areas

  • Occasional international development trainings at Posner Center

Qualifications


  • Current student or recent graduate in Graphic Design or related field

  • Excellent command of Adobe Creative Suite

  • A digital portfolio or at least 5 samples of work

  • Experience in online platforms a plus (Constant Contact, Square Space)

  • Background in Marketing a plus

  • Creative and self-directed

  • Optimist who believes the world can be a better place

  • A commitment to Children’s Future’s mission

Commitment


  • 1 semester, minimum

  • 10-20 hours per week, flexible
