This recruitment is for a limited term position not to exceed six months.
Work involves acting as a member of a (multi-disciplinary) team in serving the clients and families of Rock County. Supervision is provided by unit supervisor and is reviewed by conferences, review of reports, and observation of work results.
- Assess client’s or family’s needs and eligibility for services.
- Work with clients, families, and other collateral and appropriate community agencies to coordinate and facilitate services for clients.
- Participate in planning treatment programs, dispositional and discharge plans.
- Provide individual and group counseling to clients and possibly families.
- Maintain family contact regarding client adjustments.
- Attend and testify at court proceedings.
- Attend staff, team, and department meetings.
- Attend inservices, staffings, and other meetings with supervisor’s approval. May be appointed to committees.
- Actively participates in team review of records and cases.
- Participate in agency and community planning and education.
- Participates in disaster evacuations and fire drills when circumstances warrant.
- Provide selected agency services to identified caseload; referring clients and families to other services as appropriate.
- Develop and maintain client case records, plans and reports.
- Perform work in other units of the division as needed.
- Maintain prompt and regular attendance.
- Performs related work as desired.

- Knowledge of laws, regulations, and practices pertaining to federal and state human service programs and/or domestic violence programming.
- Knowledge of human service and community resources and how to effectively utilize them.

- Knowledge of psychotropic medications, their main effects, side effects, and abuse potential.
- Knowledge of assessment and treatment of mental illness and chemical misuse/abuse/dependency.
- Ability to plan and organize work effectively.
- Ability to maintain accurate, current records, and prepare clear and concise reports from them.
- Ability to establish and maintain effectively working relationships within the agency and community.
- Knowledge of current social and economic problems and ways in which these problems affect individuals and families.

Job Requirements, Education, Training & Experience:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in social work or related field (i.e guidance and counseling, sociology, psychology, or criminal justice).
- Must possess valid driver’s license and/or commercial drivers license.

- General mobility, including occasional use of stairs.
- Occasional bending, kneeling and reaching.
- Lifting and carrying approximately 50 pounds, which may included young children and/or infant/child car seat.
- Sitting, driving or standing for long periods of time.

- Computer–PC and keyboard at desk or portable laptop in the field for case documentation entry.

- Outdoor–rarely; primarily as a result of travel requirements to and from the office, client homes, schools, and other meeting sites in the community
